## What StayFocus is

StayFocus helps you pick one task, start a timed session, and finish it. It is built and run by one person, funded by the people who use it, and it has no investors to answer to.

StayFocus is an execution loop, not a task manager. The day has a shape: you decide on one thing worth doing, you commit to it, you run a timed focus session on it, and at the end of the day you close the loop by writing down what actually moved. Everything in the product exists to serve that loop, and anything that does not serve it is left out on purpose.

The hard part of focused work is rarely knowing what to do. It is starting, and then staying with it once a more interesting thought shows up. So the product is built around those two moments. Deciding is a short, deliberate step instead of an open list you scroll. Distracting thoughts go into a brain dump you can empty later, so you do not have to choose between losing an idea and losing the session.

Around that loop there are a few smaller things: two-week experiments you run on your own habits so you learn what works for you instead of what works in a book, a reflection log that becomes your own record of decisions, and a live map that shows other builders in a session right now. Working alone does not have to mean working in silence.

## Who builds it

**Zakaria Hafidoun**, Founder and sole developer, based in Morocco

StayFocus is built by one developer in Morocco. There is no team, no support department, and no outsourced inbox. The person who writes the code is the person who answers your email, which is slower than a call centre and considerably more useful.

It was built to solve a problem its author had first. Everything set up, the task right there, and then an hour gone with nothing done. Reading more about productivity did not fix that. Having one clear next step and a timer that had already started did.

## How it is run

### Paid by the people who use it

StayFocus is funded by subscriptions, not by advertising and not by investors. There is nobody upstream asking for more of your attention, because your attention is not the product being sold.

### No invented numbers

The counts on the marketing pages are read from the same tables the public directories render, so any figure quoted can be checked on the page that lists it. There are no testimonials, because there are no real ones to show yet.

### Your data stays yours

Focus sessions, notes and brain dump items belong to the account that created them. They are not sold, not used to train anything, and can be deleted with the account. The privacy page states exactly what is stored.

### Open to assistants

StayFocus runs an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants can start a session, capture an idea or read your stats on your behalf, over OAuth, scoped to your own account and nobody else's.
